Last year was a big one for Conde Nast Entertainment, as the programming division launched and expanded a network of video channels for seven of its magazine brands (it’s grown to 10 channels in 2014, with the latest one for Allure).
Across those seven channels, which offered a slate of 70 original shows in 2013, CNE says it generated more than half a billion views, spanning the owned-and-operated channels on each brand’s website, to syndication outlets like YouTube, AOL, and on.
That success, which included a recent Sports Emmy nomination for GQ’s documentary series “Casualties of the Gridiron,” means some of those shows are coming back. As first reported by Adweek, CNE has decided to renew 21 shows for 2014, accounting for 30% of its 2013 original programming slate.
Included in the renewals is “Casualties of the Gridiron,” which documents post-football life of several NFL players suffering as a result of injuries during their playing days. It’s coming back to GQ for a third season. Also coming back: “Codefellas” and “What’s Inside,” each for a second season on Wired, as well as “Elevator Makeover” and the documentary series “Screw You Cancer” on Glamour.

- GQ: “Casualties of the Gridiron”; “America’s Bartender”
- Vanity Fair: “Vanity Code”
- Vogue: “Vogue Weddings: The Dress”
Expect for CNE to talk about these renewals, as well as new programming they’re set to roll out in the coming year during its Newfronts presentation next week.
