YouTube star and burgeoning filmmaker Joey Graceffa will now be repped by UTA, an agency whose YouTube-bred clientele includes Justine Ezarik (iJustine), Shane Dawson, Bethany Mota, and Jimmy Tatro.
As first reported by Deadline, UTA will represent Graceffa “in all areas,” helping the star build on top of his online following as he pursues opportunities in film and television acting, as well as publishing and music. Graceffa has more than 3.3 million subscribers on YouTube (a secondary gaming channel has more than 830,000 subscribers), and 1.28 million followers on Twitter.
A prominent vlogging personality on YouTube, Graceffa has ventured into scripted formats in the past year. He ran a successful Kickstarter last year to create the horror web series “Storytellers.”
“Now that I have a larger audience, I feel that I have the opportunity to make higher quality content and grow as a person and video creator,” Graceffa told VideoInk in an earlier interview. “I’m always changing up my style and making it better quality. That’s why I created ‘Storytellers,’ because I wanted to bring something to my channel that was more than just my vlogs.”
Graceffa also has a TV credit to his name. The star competed in CBS’ globe-trekking reality series “The Amazing Race” last year alongside fellow YouTuber Meghan Camarena. The duo finished in fifth place.
Graceffa is managed by Petar Mandich, who also represents Ezarik, Camarena, and several other prominent YouTube stars.
