Apparently this week is YouTube’s ninth birthday. To mark the occasion, the site enlisted a bevy of its most popular creators to rehash some of its greatest musical hits.
YouTube stars featured in the video include Chester See, MysteryGuitarMan, David Choi, and the Cimorelli sisters, performing hits such as “Call Me Maybe,” “Here It Goes Again,” “Cups (When I’m Gone),” and of course “Friday” and “Chocolate Rain.”
It’s a reminder about how important YouTube has become in the distribution of music — a fact that has no better example than Billboard’s decision last February to include YouTube streams in its weekly hot 100 charts.

It was produced by the digital studio Portal A, which was also behind another creator-heavy musical mashup, the “YouTube Rewind 2013” video, which recapped everything big that happened on the world’s biggest video site last year.
