Net2TV, a media company that packages short-form video programming for connected TVs, has teamed up with Time Inc. to do just that for the latter’s signature brands. The partnership will kick off with the shows “People This Week,” “The Week in Time,” “Cooking Light,” “Inside Golf Magazine,” and “Southern Living,” all curated from short-form video that already exists in Time Inc.’s library.
Advertisements support all of these free programs, which are available today for over 25 million viewers on Net2TV’s Portico TV service. Smart TVs from LG, Samsung, Sharp, and Philips, as well as televisions connected to Roku and Toshiba tablets, all can feature the content. The shows also appear online at Portico.tv.
J. R. McCabe, Time Inc.’s senior vice president of video, explained the partnership. “We are always looking for new ways to let audiences engage with our brands, and these streaming, full-length TV shows do just that,” he said. “Plus, they’re available when and where viewers want to watch.”
Time Inc. already reaches over 130 million consumers each month through a variety of platforms. Their brands include InStyle, Sports Illustrated, Travel + Leisure, and People. Net2TV now turns some of these brands’ content into 30, 60, and 90-minute segments suited to streaming on TV.
