Angela Courtin will serve as Relativity Media’s first chief marketing officer. In addition to heading the company’s marketing for TV, film, and sports, she will supervise all of their advertising and branding initiatives.
Courtin joins Relativity from the Dentsu Aegis Network, where she served as the company’s president since August 2013. She will now work under Relativity’s CEO Ryan Kavanaugh and the company’s president, Tucker Tooley.
Courtin will also run Relativity Digital and Relativity’s branded entertainment branch, Madvine, which also focuses on consumer products. Brands like Mondelez and Pathway Genomics already work with Madvine, and a new digital division started by Courtin will operate with the branded entertainment branch, as well, helping to create, produce, and distribute content for brands.
The new appointment follows Dana Precious’s departure from the company this May, who worked as the president of creative advertising and research at Relativity. Courtin has served as president of The Story Lab and has worked as the SVP of integrated marketing at MTV Networks as well as the SVP of marketing, entertainment, and content at MySpace.
