Rich Raddon, co-founder of Zefr, spoke to VideoInk about the digital media industry and the social platforms that intersect with it at this year’s VidCon. Raddon explained that Zefr came out of the philosophy that “YouTube is an enormous platform, a social platform.” Taking this knowledge into account, Zefr created a company that builds tech to serve both talent and brands, allowing them to benefit from the melding of YouTube as a platform for both video content and social interaction.
Raddon explained that companies are becoming savvier to the YouTube audience and the opportunities it presents for consumers to become creators. In light of Disney’s acquisition of Maker Studios, Raddon expressed that it has become undeniable to brands and media companies alike that “something big is happening on this platform.”
