Vevo is getting more social. The music-video platform has struck a deal with Pinterest to distribute its content on the social discovery site.
All Vevo content, including the its library of official music videos, original programming, and live concerts, will be available for users to “pin” on their Pinterest page. A “Pin It” button has been added to the sharing options on all videos on Vevo.com as well as the platform’s iOS apps. Once users have shared a video to their Pinterest page, a “See It Now” option will allow anyone on that page to watch the video.
A similar functionality will soon be added to Vevo’s other mobile apps, the company said. Vevo is the third video platform, after YouTube and Vimeo, to allow sharing on Pinterest, which to date has been primarily known as a place to curate visually striking photos and links.
