Endemol Beyond UK has teamed up with YouTube star Olatunji (better known as KSI) to launch a global sports channel on the video site. Called Rule’m Sports, the channel already boasts over 26,000 subscribers.
Rule’m Sports will be home to upwards of 150 premium, sports-themed videos over the coming year. Content will focus on KSI as he departs gaming for more physically strenuous activities, as he will train with major athletes who excel in five different sports.
KSI will attempt to master boxing, rugby, and football, in addition to other athletic disciplines. With a strong following on his two gaming/vlogging/sketch channels, KSI may be able to draw his almost 9 million subscribers to the new content on Rule’m Sports.
“Creating unmissable content with the hottest stars of the digital video world is what Endemol Beyond is all about,” Randel Bryan, the director of Endemol Beyond UK said. “Not only is KSI one of the biggest YouTubers out there, he’s also one of the most entertaining, making him the perfect host for this truly unique digital sports channel.”
Bryan went on to explain that Rule’m Sports addresses a lack of sports and fitness programming on YouTube, attempting to fill that void as a part of Endemol’s campaign to create content with traditional and digital celebrities alike. The company’s latest partnerships include Pitbull, Drea de Matteo of “The Sopranos,” Vine creator Brittany Furlan, and YouTubers Michelle Phan and MattyB.
Endemol Beyond counts hubs in the US, UK, France, Italy, Germany, and Spain. Their creative offshoots operate in over 30 countries and includes upwards of 150 digital video channels.
