With the addition of over 200 new channels, the animation-focused Channel Frederator Network now boasts a reach of more than 9.5 million subscribers.
In total, the MCN is now comprised of more than 550 channels, including its flagship toon channel, Cartoon Hangover, which has grown to 1.3 million subscribers and 120 million lifetime views. Other mainstays in the network lineup include channels for Simon Tofield’s series “Simon’s Cat,” Jason Steele’s FilmCow Channel, and Sam Green Media.
“This is a milestone, not only for our network, but for all of our partners and the independent channels that are helping to make this the best destination to access a dynamic mix of fresh and entertaining voices,” said Fred Seibert, founder of Frederator and maybe the foremost toon-head in the business, in a statement. “We truly look at this as a creative hub for animators to tap into their own visions, unencumbered and without influence so that they can create amazing and extremely distinct programming.”
Next up for the company is an animated series created by Natasha Allegri (“Adventure Time”) called “Bee and PuppyCat,” which was financed in part by an $870,000 Kickstarter campaign — the largest ever for an animated program.
