Buffer Festival will return to Toronto for another year, lauding YouTube creators through screenings and meet-ups from October 17 to 19. Just as this year’s VidCon took on more of an industry edge than the fan and community-centered event had ever before, so the Canadian Buffer Festival will tack on an “Industry Day” to its 2014 proceedings.
Buffer Festival Industry Day will take place on October 16, the day before the festival itself gets going. Presented by the Canadian Film Centre’s Media Lab at the Hyatt Regency Toronto, Industry Day will give professionals in the industry a chance to network and think about YouTubing logistics, like distribution and promotion. YouTube creators and MCNs are encouraged to attend so that they can rub shoulders with industry execs.
Of course, branded content will have a big place at Buffer Festival Industry Day. Talk of partnerships between brands and creators is set to educate Industry Day attendees, and fans will not be among them.
Buffer Festival 2014 is made possible in partnership with YouTube. This year’s major YouTube attendees will include the (Canadian) cast of “Epic Meal Time,” the Fine Brothers, Jenn McAllister (JennXPenn), Shay Carl, And “Frankenstein, MD” creator, Bernie Su. Sawyer Hartman and Rhett & Link will count among the many to host meetups at the three-day event.
