Music lovers should get excited about what’s coming up on Vevo. The company is bringing upwards of 100 new episodes of original shows to viewers this fall.
Among the fresh series on Vevo are “Super Fan Showdown” and “High Fives,” both produced by LA-based production company Kids at Play. The first show looks how it sounds — like a competition between fans granting prizes to the most “amped.” The weekly “High Fives” series will showcase comedians performing music video countdowns, featuring an appearance by Josh Leyva (better known as YoMuscleBoii).
These premieres follow the company’s first animated series, “A.K.A.,” which debuted with an episode starring Iggy Azalea in August, and other recent premieres, “Day Off With” and “Vevo DSCVR.” Fuze sponsors “Day Off With,” which follows musicians in their free time, beginning with Neon Trees’ Tyler Glenn. Meanwhile, “Vevo DSCVR” takes place in The Dream Downtown’s Electric Room in New York City and premiered with artist Betty Who.
Vevo’s current, popular shows will keep rolling out episodes, including “Lyric Lines,” “Guess the Video,” “Lift,” “Go Shows,” “Tour Exposed,” and “Hot This Week.” The platform’s fashion series, “Stylized,” will also come back but with makeover now that Vevo’s partnered with Milk Studios, Made, and Legs Media.
Doug McVehil, Vevo’s SVP of content and programming, notes that this is the company’s “biggest season of original series to date.” Vevo launched in 2009 and now includes a library with around 100,000 music videos and episodes of original programming.
