AwesomenessTV has opened a physical “pop-up” store to allow fans to shop for various merchandise, and on occasion, meet and interact with the network’s YouTube talent.
Dubbed “Scene@AwesomenessTV,” the store is located in Los Angeles, and will offer a curated selection of products from the company, as well as the ability for fans to design and create their own merchandise. AwesomenessTV will also host various meet-ups and performances — and give talent the opportunity to shoot videos — at the store.
YouTube creators are known for generating a lot of engagement online. And it appears a new trend is for MCNs to leverage that into offline revenue. Fullscreen recently hosted its first InTour event, which allowed paying fans to go see and meet their favorite stars live. Similarly, AwesomenessTV will undoubtedly be able to generate revenue via the new store, especially whenever it schedules talent appearances.
Scene@AwesomenessTV will also have an online component, though the company did not specify what that entails.
The project was developed by AwesomenessTV’s global head of consumer products and retail Jim Fielding, who was hired by the company in April.
