UK interactive video startup Smartzer recently gained $400,000 worth of funding to help make fashion videos “shoppable.”
Angel investors include Jamie True along with others who have not been named.
Smartzer’s interactive video technology allows viewers to stop directly through watching. The startup puts icons over content that viewers can click if they’re thinking about purchasing the item shown (i.e., a box with a plus sign over a dress worn by a model in a fashion video). This puts the item on a WaitList for them to consider buying later.
The startup launched this shoppable technology during London Fashion Week in September, where touchscreens at the event showcased Smartzer. Its focus lies primarily in fashion content.
