Condé Nast Entertainment is streaming a feature film it acquired at the Toronto International Film Festival on its video site The Scene. The documentary “Burt’s Buzz” follows Burt Shavitz, the reclusive man behind the well-known Burt’s Bees brand.
Directed by Jody Shapiro, the film explores Shavitz’s past as well as his current, quiet lifestyle as a beekeeper — and creator of a wildly successful product line.
For its digital debut, “Burt’s Buzz” has been cut-up into 10 separate “episodes.” All of the episodes are all currently available for North American audiences on The Scene. The deal was negotiated by Jed Weintrob, CNE’s VP and head of production, and Scott Kaplan of FilmBuff, which is distributing the film.
