Whistle Sports is launching a basketball-focused vertical within its larger multi-channel network on YouTube.
Just in time for the start of the new NBA season, Whistle Sports’ basketball network launches with 39 channels already in place. Combined, these channels reach 5.4 million fans, according to the company. Top channels include the official YouTube destinations for Los Angeles Laker point guard Jeremy Lin (409,000 subscribers) and the Harlem Globetrotters (90,000 subscribers). Other basketball-centric channels, covering everything from trick shots to tips, include BallIsLife (390,000 subscribers), StrongerTeam (78,000 subscribers), and Team Flight Brothers (110,000 subscribers).
This is the second single-sport vertical from Whistle Sports, after the company’s acquisition of The Lacrosse Network earlier this year. Currently, TLN encompasses 52 channels and 315,000 subscribers.
Since debuting in January, the Whistle Sports MCN has grown to 8.3 million subscribers and 1.25 billion lifetime views.
