If you visit The New York Times online today and something seems a little off, don’t be alarmed. It’s just the company’s new digital video player, which is four times the size of the one that formerly graced its home page.
The video player’s features include a navigation bar, which leads viewers to more videos. Those who click on the video can open the “Times Video experience” to continue watching as well as access other videos.
The new video module on NYTimes.com is part of the company’s continued push into digital video. Though available near the bottom of the home page, The Times hopes to drive more viewership by leveraging the biggest digital real estate it has to offer.
