CNN Digital has revamped its management team, tapping the company’s current staff to fill three, lead positions.
Alex Wellen takes the role of chief product officer at CNN Digital, while Meredith Artley steps up as the editor-in-chief and Andrew Morse becomes the head of global operations and editorial.
As far as video is concerned, this means Morse will oversee programming from CNN’s Washington base. Meanwhile, Artley will manage such efforts on CNN.com, CNNi.com, and CNNMoney. Her job will put her at the head of the network’s mobile video, as well.
As the chief product officer, Wellen will help craft CNN’s strategy when it comes to mobile and web video while overseeing the network’s emerging platforms. His role will cover the technology and business dealings surrounding all of CNN’s digital platforms. Wellen’s experience in CNN Digital extends to launching CNN Go and the network’s TV Everywhere app.
