BroadbandTV, among the largest media networks on YouTube, has opened its first office in the United States. The new location, headquartered in the midtown area of the Manhattan borough of New York City, will initially support the company’s US ad sales team.
“We’re already the third largest multi-channel network globally and serve tens of thousands of content owners and creators in the US,” said Shahrzad Rafati, founder and CEO, BroadbandTV, in a statement. “The New York offices will further allow us to strengthen our partnerships with leading brands and advertisers as we continue to target opportunities surrounding the shift of ad spends to the digital space.”
To date, BroadbandTV has made its bread helping media companies and brands manage and monetize their content on YouTube, while also a running an MCN to help YouTube stars build audiences and make money.
Recently, the company has expanded into original and branded content. The company has a multi-year deal with FremantleMedia North America, a sister company under the RTL Group umbrella, to produce original content across entertainment, gaming, and music verticals. The new office in New York will look to support those efforts.
BroadbandTV currently averages 2.5 billion views across a network of more than 25,000 channel partners.
Headquartered in Vancouver, the company also plans to expand into “key” South American and European markets.
