Crackle will debut another feature film, “The Throwaways,” on its platform this December 19.
Described as an “international cyber spy thriller,” the film follows a hacker (played by Sam Huntington of “Being Human”) after he’s given an ultimatum from the CIA, which leads to him joining the organization and assembling a motley crew of techies (the “throwaways”). Other stars in the film include Katie McGrath, Christian Hillborg, Kevin Dillon, and James Caan.
Written by Michael Ross, “The Throwaways” was directed by Tony Bui and executive produced by Timothy Linh Bui along with Jeremy Renner and Don Handfield via their production company, The Combine.
“The Throwaways” adds to Crackle’s native feature films. The platform also announced that it would be debuting “Joe Dirt 2” (the sequel to the feature film starring David Spade that debuted in theaters) as well as “Dead Rising: Watchtower,” a movie based on the video game franchise.
