VHX, a video distribution service for filmmakers and other video creators, wants to become a video-watching destination as well — that much has been clear with the recent launch of its iOS app and “Library” feature.
That effort continues, with VHX’s expansion to the TV screen via a new Roku app. The app, which is available for free on all Roku devices, will allow VHX users to watch any videos they have bought and stored on the service.
Based in New York, VHX recently announced that it’s raising $5 million in a Series B funding round, primarily to expand to more platforms and screens. To date it’s been used by mainstream celebrities, traditional networks, independent filmmakers, and YouTube stars to sell films and other premium video content directly to their fans.
