Rachael Taylor is the latest to join the cast of upcoming live-action Marvel series for Netflix, “Jessica Jones.”
Taylor will play the part of Trish Walker, Jessica Jones’ best friend (Jones, as previously announced, will be played by Krysten Ritter). Taylor’s character is a former model/child star who also goes by a couple of other identities — “Patsy” to her fans and Hellcat, when she’s in superhero mode. Walker will help Jones as the latter explores her post-superhero life as a professional detective.
This casting comes shortly after David Tennant of “Doctor Who” joined the series as evil Killgrave. Mike Colter will also appear in the “Jessica Jones” adaptation as Marvel hero Luke Cage.
“Jessica Jones” will span 13 episodes on Netflix. It’s executive produced by Melissa Rosenberg for the streaming service and Marvel along with Marvel’s head of television Jeph Loeb. The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios.
“Jessica Jones,” which is set to come out later this year, isn’t the first show from Marvel coming to Netflix. “Daredevil,” “Luke Cage,” and “Iron Fist” are all set to debut on the streaming service.
