First, Snapchat launched a new video feature aimed at delivering short-form videos from big-name media companies. Then, a couple of digital producers teamed with a major brand to begin production on an original series exclusively for the Snapchat platform. Now, Snapchat is making its own content.*
The social startup has announced its first web series, “Literally Can’t Even,” which comes from the bloodline of Hollywood royalty: Sasha Spielberg (daughter of Steven) and Emily Goldwyn (daughter of John). Written by and starring the duo, the series will follow the two — playing fictionalized versions of themselves — and their daily adventures in Los Angeles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The series will debut on Snapchat’s “Snap Channel” on January 31, and with this being Snapchat, it will also be ephemeral. New episodes — each five minutes or less in length — will debut every Saturday, but will disappear after 24 hours.
Snapchat’s media production director Rylee Ebsen is overseeing “Literally Can’t Even,” as well as all video on the Snap Channel.
