Con TV will debut its first original movie, “Mythica: A Quest for Heroes,” on March 31.
The film is actually part of a three-movie “Mythica” series, with the following two called “Mythica: The Darkspore” and “Mythica: The Necromancer,” both of which will come out on Con TV later in 2015. The first installment follows a character named Marek (played by Melanie Stone) who escapes being an indentured servant to “hone her own mysterious powers,” eventually embarking on a princess-saving quest with a team of, you guessed it, misfit heroes. Other cast members include Kevin Sorbo as Stone’s wizard mentor, Jake Stormoen, Nicola Posener, and Adam Johnson. The first “Mythica” movie was directed by Anne K. Black and produced by Arrowstorm Entertainment. The production company raised funding for the movie via a successful Kickstarter campaign.
“Mythica: A Quest for Heroes” will join other original, fan-focused Con TV content such as a trivia game show from Bruce Campbell (“The Evil Dead”) called “Last Fan Standing” and spoof reality competition “Fight of the Living Dead,” which stars YouTubers and zombies. Con TV was created by Cinedigm and Wizard World, the producers of Comic-Con.
