FilmBuff has promoted Mickey Slevin to chief operating officer, a new position at the indie film distributor.
In the role, Slevin will continue to oversee FilmBuff’s finances, which he has done since being named head of finance in 2011. His duties are also expanding to include oversight of all of the company’s operations.
Slevin is one of two executives to receive a promotion at the distribution company, alongside Scott Kaplan, who is now senior vice president of global sales. Kaplan oversees domestic and international distribution for all FilmBuff releases, and is responsible for sourcing and negotiating all television, SVOD, and AVOD rights deals for the distributor’s library of 1,500+ films.
Both executives, who join an executive management team that includes general counsel Luke Marchetti, will report to FilmBuff CEO Janet Brown.
