This year, the Banff World Media Festival is launching the “Brand + Content Exchange,” an initiative inside the annual gathering of entertainment, media, and advertising executives to explore the various opportunities available to marketers across established and emerging digital platforms.
One of the headliners for the track will be David Beebe, VP of global creative and content marketing at Marriott International. The long-time digital entertainment executive launched and currently runs the Marriott Content Studio, a new branded entertainment unit within Marriott.
At Banff, Beebe will sit down for a fireside chat and discuss what Marriott has already done on the content front since launching its studio last fall. So far its slate includes one released short film, “Two Bellmen,” another in production, “French Kiss,” and multiple development deals and series with YouTube stars such as Jack Harries and What’s Trending.
“We have been fast out of the gate signing production and development deals with partners, including producers Ian Sander and Kim Moses and YouTubers, like Jack Harries of Jacks Gap, Taryn Southern, Louis Cole, Sonia Gil, among many,” said Beebe. “Our first original short film, “Two Bellmen,” has more than 5 million views helping propel what we call our ‘3C’ strategy to produce engaging content that builds communities of people passionate about travel that will drive commerce to our hotels.”
The annual Banff conference will be held from June 7–10 at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Canada.
