‘The Mindy Project’ Might Get a Second Life on Hulu (Report)
Network TV show “The Mindy Project,” starring comedian Mindy Kaling, might bring its next season to Hulu.
Fox has decided to drop the sitcom at the end of its third season, leaving it open for a second life on digital. According to a report from Deadline, Universal Television is talking to Hulu about bringing a fourth, fifth, and maybe even more seasons of “The Mindy Project” to the streaming service.
Hulu Plus is already home to past seasons of the show, which debuted on Fox in 2012, per a deal with Universal Television.
“The Mindy Project”’s possible move to Hulu wouldn’t be the first time a network TV show got another chance to air online. The big president here is “Community,” which came to Yahoo after NBC dropped it post season five.
According to Deadline, there’s talk of other broadcast TV series joining “The Mindy Project” on Hulu. Both “The Following” on Fox and “Stalker” on CBS may wind up on the streaming service, as well — but there’s nothing definite on that front.
