FameBit, a self-service marketplace platform for advertisers and mid-level YouTubers looking to mingle with each other, has acquired video marketing agency Refame.
Refame, which specializes in super-short-form videos, has built a business around creating branded videos starring Vine, Snapchat, and Instagram personalities. In the past year, the agency has pulled together a roster of social influencers who reach 40 million people across their channels and profile pages.
Following the acquisition, Reframe’s roster of creators will be added to FameBit’s platform, giving FameBit entry into the social video marketing business outside of YouTube. “We see Refame as a natural addition to the long-form content our influencers are currently creating and we are excited to incorporate it into our platform,” said David Kierzkowski, co-founder and CEO of FameBit. (Though, to be fair, long-form in this instance is probably not as long as the type of content the term is usually reserved for.)
FameBit said its platform now offers access to more than 10,000 creators across YouTube, Vine, Snapchat, and Instagram, collectively reaching more than 450 million subscribers and followers. To date, YouTubers have submitted more than 100,000 proposals to brands for product integrations through FameBit, the company said.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
