Complex has picked up the documentary series “Glory Days” from Victory Journal, a sports-focused publication. Part one of the series debuts today online.
The four-part series showcases four high school athletes, including a soccer player from Las Vegas, a quarterback in New Orleans, a point guard from the Bronx, and a fighter from Michigan.
“Glory Days” focuses on teen athletes for a reason. “We find ourselves more captivated by high school than pro or college sports right now,” said Christopher Isenberg, editor of Victory Journal. “It gets us back to the raw intensity and drama that got us interested in sports in the first place. It’s also the perfect vehicle to tell stories about people and places, struggles and triumphs all over the country, which aren’t otherwise getting mainstream attention.”
Powerade is sponsoring the series, which comes after the sports drink brand launched its “Just a Kid From” campaign, which focuses on athletes the same age as those starring in “Glory Days.”
Check out the first episode of “Glory Days” on Complex’s digital platform, which follows the Bronx-based basketball player. The remaining three episodes will follow.
