TiVo has launched a digital service that lets customers stream live TV as well as their DVR recordings on the web.
Called simply TiVo Online, the service essentially puts TiVo on your computer, if you have a PC or a Mac…and if you’re at home. For now, TiVo Online isn’t a mobile offering.
Mostly, the digital service stresses its search abilities, which subscribers can use to find shows by title, actor, and network. TiVo’s OnePass feature is also available through the company’s SVOD offering, which lets users organize their favorite shows and manage their list of future episodes to record.
TiVo Online is free to anyone who already subscribes to TiVo, which goes for $14.99 a month. The service lets subscribers organize, search, and watch content from digital platforms and streaming services like AOL, YouTube, Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix (assuming they actually subscribe to the paid ones).
