Per the deal, Sweety High and Radio Disney will co-produce series that will appear on both company’s digital platforms. They will also focus on developing talent that will feature in both video and audio-only projects across their platforms.
To start, Sweety and Radio Disney will collaborate on the series “Sweet Beat TV/ Radio Disney Insider.” The show will use the Radio Disney Insider franchise’s style of interview and behind-the-scenes features to spotlight talent from Sweety’s current “Sweat Beat TV” show.
The two media companies will also merge their music-focused shows in “Revealed/ Next Big Thing.” The series will show off emerging, female artists, with the first season featuring pop singer Becky G.
“This selfie-generation is seen as difficult to reach yet controls a large part of popular culture backed by $238 billion a year in spending power,” said Frank Simonetti, Sweety’s CEO. “Our partnership with Radio Disney will provide a strong and authentic platform to deliver high-quality, participatory programming to this vital niche.”
Original programming won’t be the extent of Sweety’s partnership with Radio Disney. The media companies will also work on marketing and sales agreements related to their joint content, events, and promotions.
