Yahoo! Global News Anchor Katie Couric will be braving the masses of screaming tween YouTube fans at VidCon, taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center from July 23 through 25. The former “CBS Evening News” anchor and “Today” (NBC) co-host will interview BuzzFeed Motion Pictures president Ze Frank live on stage at the conference on July 23 at 10:15 a.m.
Couric joins a lineup of speakers and panelists for VidCon’s Industry Track that also includes YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, Victor Koo of Youku Tudou, Jennifer Prince of Twitter, John Sebastian of Procter & Gamble, J.P. Colaco of Vessel, Mike Vorhaus of Magid Advisors and Brian Solis of Altimeter Group.
Held on the third floor of the convention center, the Industry Track will have more than 2,000 professionals from over 600 companies joining hundreds of online video creators to share insights about how to build the sustainable communities, channels and franchises.
This year’s Community Track is expected to attract over 17,000 fans. It will feature five stages inside and outside of the first level of the convention center, as well as over 500,000 square feet dedicated to pre-registered meet-and-greets with stars, interactive exhibits and performances.
For the first time, VidCon will also include a three-day Creator Track, held on the second floor of the convention center, for up-and-coming creators seeking guidance on how to be successful in online video. It will feature panels, talks, workshops and keynotes focusing on the nuts and bolts of writing, editing, shooting, lighting, marketing and monetizing content and developing a community of engaged fans.
VidCon was founded in 2010 by brothers Hank and John Green, the latter of whom authored the best-seller The Fault in Our Stars.
