Popular children’s television program “Bob The Builder” is returning to television on PBS in November, and in celebration Mattel entertainment division HIT Entertainment announced today a new “Bob The Builder” YouTube channel launching on Thursday. It will feature 40-plus mini-episodes, each approximately 3 minutes in length.
Debuting in 1998, the British kids show “Bob The Builder” enjoyed a 14-year run before releasing its last new episode in 2012. The show has since lived on in syndication around the world on outlets including Nickeloden, Nick Jr., Sprout and PBS. The new “Bob The Builder” series will feature a revamped look for the iconic character, who will be rendered in CGI. The rebooted Bob the Builder will also be accompanied by a new character, Wendy, to be voiced by Emmy-winner Joanne Frogatt (“Downton Abbey”).
Established in 1983. HIT Entertainment is a British and American-based entertainment company owned by Mattel. Spun off from the Jim Henson Company’s distribution division, Henson International Television, HIT has been responsible for distributing familiar children’s television brands like “Barney and Friends,” “Thomas The Tank Engine,” and the original run of “Bob The Builder.”
