Crowdfunding platform RocketHub and arts-focused network Ovation TV today announced the launch of Creative Studio, a partnership aimed at helping artists find funding for creative projects.
Creative Studio will provide artists with tips, training, marketing support and on-air promotion via Ovation’s linear, digital, and social platforms to help them launch successful crowdfunding initiatives for larger scale projects. The projects supported by Creative Studio may be in digital or traditional mediums and will be selected by a judging panel made up of television and crowdfunding experts from around the country. The top three selected projects will also receive $5,000 in seed funding.
RocketHub launched in 2010 as a crowdfunding platform aimed at artists and other creatives. This isn’t the first time that the RocketHub has partnered with a television network. In 2013 the platform pacted with A&E for Project Startup, which allowed entrepreneurs to access support from RocketHub’s crowd funding community, as well as from the television network and its advertisers. In 2015, RocketHub was acquired by startup network EFactor for $15 million.
Ovation TV launched its own YouTube MCN in the spring 2015. Since that time, the network has been actively cultivating digital creators for wider projects including long-form specials on its digital and linear platforms.
