Starz has announced that Starz Play, the OTT app available to Starz premium subscribers, will debut today on Roku.
Launched in 2014, Starz Play is the streaming service arm of premium cable network Starz. The Starz Play provides Starz subscribers with access to the entire Starz film and television library, as well as Starz entire catalog of original TV content, including series such as Patrick Stewart’s “Blunt Talk,” “Survivor’s Remorse” from producer Lebron James, and “Power” from executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. The Starz Play app is already available on Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Chromecast, most tablets, iOS and Android devices.
Roku users can find the app in the TV and Film categories in the Roku channel store. Roku has been steadily expanding its partnerships in recent months. Starz Play joins a diverse field of content from digital and mainstream publishers on the platform. Roku supports most major streaming platforms, as well as content from a variety of TV networks and apps for niche content producers from AwesomenessTV to CosmoBody and Tastemade.
