Thanks to a partnership with VH1, “The 5th Annual Streamy Awards” will be the first installment of the web video kudofest to be televised. Accordingly, the Streamys have announced a star-studded list of performers and presenters to make the proceedings shine on the camera.
The Streamy’s already announced that this year’s hosting duties will fall to two of YouTube’s most recognizable crossover stars, comedian Grace Helbig and vlogger Tyler Oakley. However the YouTube duo won’t be alone on stage. Streamys organizers have tapped A Great Big World feat. Futuristic, OMI, Sir Mix-A-Lot and Hailee Steinfeld to perform at the event.
As for the the awards themselves, they’ll be prestened by a roster of notables, many of whom made waves on the web themselves this year, including singers Natasha Bedingfield and Ciara, celebrity sibling Frankie Grande, Streamy winner Jenna Marbles and reality star NeNe Leakes. Actor James Van Der Beek, who recently starred in Adi Shankar’s “Bootleg Universe,” will also make a special appearance along with Miranda Sings. Additional presenters include Paula Abdul, Mel B. (of The Spice Girls), Phil DeFranco, Ricky Dillon, GloZell Green, Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries), Hannah Hart, Mamrie Hart, Shay Mitchell (“Pretty Little Liars”), Harley Morenstein, Ingrid Nilsen, Pauley Perrette (“NCIS”), Jillian Rose Reed (“Awkward”), Smosh and cast members of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
The Streamy Awards will be telecast live from the Hollywood Palladium on Thurs., Sept. 17, at 10 p.m. (time-delayed PT). Winners who don’t receive their prizes during the televised broadcast will be honored at a separate ceremony on Monday, Sept. 14, at the YouTube Space LA in Playa Vista hosted by comedian Glozell and Chelsea Briggs.
UPDATED 9/11/2015 — Streamys organizers have added hip-hop star Future to the Awards’ lineup. Future will perform his new single “March Madness” on the show, marking the song’s television debut.
