Millennial-targeting digital network Young Hollywood is branching out from its Tinseltown roots with the new sports docu-series “Beyond the Athlete.” It announced that it will premiere three episodes of the series today, with a new episode debuting each month.
It marks the eighth show from Young Hollywood to debut exclusively on the Apple TV channel it launched in March.
Each episode of “Beyond the Athlete” follows four different athletes, giving viewers an inside look at their passions outside of sports, including business, fashion and music.
Founded in 2007 by CEO R.J. Williams, Young Hollywood finances, produces and distributes over 500 hours of original celebrity and lifestyle programming annually, much of which is produced at its broadcast studio inside the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. It has also created branded content for companies such as Subway, Unilever, H&M, Electronic Arts and Coca-Cola.
Like the subjects of “Beyond the Athlete,” Young Hollywood is now exploring areas outside its core skill set with its Apple TV slate, delving into reality, documentary, animation and scripted programming. It will premiere several new series exclusively on Apple TV in the coming months.
