“The 5th Annual Streamy Awards” aren’t being held until Thursday, but the bulk of the honorees have already been revealed. Thirty-five Streamy winners were announced at Monday night’s official nominees reception at YouTube Space LA.
Most of last year’s Streamys winners were also revealed at the nominees reception. But this year will be the first installment of the online video kudofest to be broadcast on linear TV (by VH1), so the producers at Dick Clark Productions have extra motivation to keep the main event tight, fast and compelling for less YouTube-savvy viewers who don’t know their PewDiePie from their Racka Racka.
This year’s Streamy hosts, Grace Helbig and Tyler Oakley, did not make an appearance at the nominees reception, but a wide assortment of top digital influencers were milling about the crowd in front of YouTube Space LA before the event — from Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks and Rhett & Link to YouTube power couple Shira Lazar of What’s Trending and music parodist Bart Baker — and taking casual turns on the red carpet. Later, hosts by Chelsea Briggs and GloZell Green welcomed the winners (listed below) to the stage in the YouTube Space LA lobby.
Winners in nine additional categories, including Beauty, Comedy, First Person, Kids and Family, Lifestyle, Pranks and Viner, as well as the two Audience Choice awards (Entertainer of the Year and Show of the Year), will be announced on the live Streamys telecast from the Hollywood Palladium on Thursday, Sept. 17,at 10 p.m. ET/delayed PT on VH1 and its digital platforms.

On Monday, Sean Kingston and Michelle Phan were added to the list of Streamy presenters, which also includes Paula Abdul, Mel B. (of The Spice Girls), Phil DeFranco, Ricky Dillon, GloZell Green, Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries), Hannah Hart, Mamrie Hart, Shay Mitchell (“Pretty Little Liars”), Harley Morenstein, Ingrid Nilsen, Pauley Perrette (“NCIS”), Jillian Rose Reed (“Awkward”), Smosh and cast members of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
The event will also feature musical performances by A Great Big World feat. Futuristic, Future, OMI, Sir Mix-A-Lot and Hailee Steinfeld.
“The 5th Annual Streamy Awards” are being executive produced by Dick Clark Productions’ Allen Shapiro, Mike Mahan, Assaf Blecher and Ariel Elazar, along with Streamy Awards founders Drew Baldwin and Joshua Cohen. Lee Rolontz and Lara Fried will executive produce for VH1.
