RTL Group-owned Broadband TV (BBTV) has posted significant gains over the last twelve months, hitting 5.7 billion monthly views, rising to number two on Social Blade’s ranking of the world’s largest multi-channel networks, refuting the argument that multi-channel networks are in their waning days.
BroadbandTV’s growth since September of 2014 has topped 10% per month, making it the fastest-growing large MCN, based on ComScore statistics. That growth is substantial and rapid when compared to comparable competitors who grew at a rate of just 2% monthly.
In a statement, BroadbandTV linked its rapid growth to a series of partnerships executed over the last year that have widened its audience and content offerings. Earlier this summer, BBTV pacted with the Huffington Post to create a video news network, expanding the is presence among digital consumers of traditional news content. It has also executed a partnership with music rights management giant BMG to accelerate its presence in the music space. Most recently, BBTV leveraged its purchase of kids content publisher YoBoHo to launch a kid focused entertainment vertical.
BroadbandTV boasts over 37,000 content partners across key verticals including gaming, music, kids and animation. Backed by media giant RTL Group, the network has managed to spin off a number of successful subsidiary brands, including hip-hop focused Opposition, EDM network WIMSIC, gaming hub TGN, video journalism network Outspeak, music management wing Windfall, and the recently-launched children’s vertical HooplaKidz.
