Today, gaming-centric multi-channel network Machinima launched its long-discussed SVOD offering on Sony’s cloud-based TV service PlayStation Vue with the debut of two platform-exclusive series, “All Systems Go! with Andy Riesmeyer” and “Sandbox with JeromeASF.”
“All Systems Go!” is a daily talk and variety show hosted by Andy Riesmeyer, the executive producer/host of OraTV’s “DweebCast.” It covers video games, tech and fandom culture with a supporting cast of faux news correspondents, recurring characters and celebrity guests.
“Sandbox” is a Minecraft clip show hosted by Jerome Aceti (a.k.a. JeromeASF), whose YouTube channel has 3.83 million subscribers and 767 million views. It will feature funny video game moments, in-depth how-to’s and exclusive adventures, as well as viewer submitted creations.
Earlier this month, Machinima announced that it is ramping up its production of original content from 250 hours a year to more than 600 to feed its growing collection of outlets, which also includes Verizon’s recently-announced, ad-supported, mobile-first video platform Go90.
Machinima’s Vue channel is available for $3.99 per month as a standalone, $1.99 per month for PlayStation Plus members, or as part of Vue’s “Elite” bundle. All subscribers will get a free seven-day trial.
Machinima is Vue’s first digital native programming partner. Machinima’s channel — which is the only one dedicated to gaming and fandom on the platform — will also feature curated content from its talent network. It will be announcing additional original programs for Vue in the coming months, including original scripted animation and comedy series.
