Roku is ready to embrace the 4K wave with the latest generation of its streaming player, Roku 4.
4K Ultra HD is rapidly emerging as the gold standard in viewing quality across platforms, and Roku’s latest player is ready to meet the demand for 4K video. The new player will provide seamless access to Roku’s library of streaming channels, featuring 300,000 movies and TV episodes.
The new Roku 4 boasts universal voice search, which enables users to search across platforms using the remote control, as well as a remote finder feature. It also includes Roku Feed, which allows consumers to “follow” movies, TV shows, actors and directors and receive automatic updates about pricing and availability. College students and frequent travelers will also have access to the new Hotel and Dorm Connect feature for quick wireless connectivity in locations that require log-in credentials to access the network.
While the new Roku player is loaded with appealing consumer features, it’s 4K compatibility — which the new Apple TV and Chromecast lack — is likely to give the device its most significant advantage over its competitors.
