Xtreme Video, the online video community featuring clips of extreme activities and feats of human endurance or skill, announced today the launch of its dedicated mobile app created in partnership with Victorious.
The new app, which is available on iOS and Android mobile devices, will double down on the community aspects of XTreme’s growing online network. Users will be able to comment and share favorite video and directly upload content including their latest video edits.
The app is part of a wave of new mobile destinations, many of them created by Bing Chen’s Victorious, that aim to allow YouTube content creators to capture their audience more directly through mobile content delivery and engagement. Recent launches mobile app launches using the Victorious platform include YouTube entertainer Ryan Higa, news outlet The Young Turks, Jukin Media’s viral clip aggregator Fail Army, YouTube star Lilly Singh, and hero and gaming focused multi-channel network Machinima. While these apps have seen varying degrees of success, they all speak to a trend away from shared platforms and toward individualized mobile content delivery.
Franck Bywalksi, the CEO and founder of London Based XTreme Video, is optimistic about the future of mobile apps. In a statement, he highlighted plans to expand Xtreme’s mobile offerings in partnership with Victorious: “Our ambition is to work with Victorious to deliver further apps to the super-fans of our key XTreme creators, a community that is keen to connect, engage and share like no other. We’re stoked with our new mobile app powered by Victorious. This is the perfect platform to engage our audience with the latest XTreme Video content and programming.”
