Digital network DanceOn is set to premiere the fourth season of its original series “Dance Showdown” on Fri., Oct. 9.
On the show, digital stars are paired with professional dancers in the style of ABC’s “So You Think You Can Dance” and compete in front of a global audience who vote via social media. Voting on the first episode will open Oct. 16. New episodes will go live every Friday on Vessel and be available the following Tuesday on YouTube.
The fourth season will spice up the show’s familiar format with group challenges sponsored by brand partners like Coca-Cola, Toyota and NOOK. Challenges range from attempting new dance styles Salsa, Bachata and Reggaeton to creating pairs routines inside a Toyota Corolla.
Host, YouTube star and executive producer Dominic “D-trix” Sandoval will return to season 4 as a judge. YouTube star and season 3 contestant Steve Kardynal will also join the judge’s panel, alongside Emmy-nominated choreographer Laurieann Gibson. This year’s contestants include musicians AJ Rafael and Jorge Narvaez, beauty and fashion vloggers Arika Sato and Jackie Hernandez, magician Brian Brushwood and Vine star Gabbie Hanna.
