Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks have announced a streaming pact with SEC Network and SEC Network + to allow customer to stream more college football content on WatchESPN.
Fans of Southeastern Athletic Conference will be able to stream their favorite teams across multiple platforms including mobile, streaming devices and most connected TVs. The new streaming opportunity will launch just ahead of Kentucky’s popular “Big Blue Madness” basketball event, which kicks off tonight, just in time for fans to catch the highly-anticipated Vanderbilt vs. South Carolina game, which also takes place today.
SEC Network delivers over 45 SEC football games, more than 100 men’s basketball games, 60 women’s basketball games, 75 baseball games and other events annually. In addition to live games, the network offers commentary and analysis, in-studio shows, daily news and information, original content such as “SEC Storied,” spring football games. The move strengthens Time Warner Cable’s position in the increasingly lucrative and competitive streaming live sports space, where niche athletic content has proven to be in high demand.
