Awesomeness Films announced today that it has added a slew of new names to the cast of its for its upcoming feature film adaptation of Lauren Oliver’s best-selling YA novel “Before I Fall,” starring Zoey Deutch (“Vampire Academy”).
Deutch will be joined by Halston Sage (“Neighbors”), Logan Miller (“The Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse”), Kian Lawley (“Shovel Buddies”), Diego Boneta (“Rock of Ages”) and Elena Kampouris (“Men, Women & Children”)
The daughter of actress Leah Thompson (“Back to the Future”) and director Howard Deutch (“Pretty in Pink”), Deutch will play Samantha Kingston, a young woman who tries to solve the mystery of her own death as she lives the same day over and over.
“Before I Fall” is scheduled to begin shooting in Vancouver on November 16. Film sales company Good Universe will be launching international sales at the American Film Market, which is being held in Santa Monica, Ca., from Nov. 4 to 11.
The film will be directed by Ry Russo-Young (“Nobody Walks”) and produced by AwesomenessTV founder Brian Robbins and newly-appointed Awesomeness Films chief Matt Kaplan, along with Jon Shestack (“Bring It On,” “Dan In Real Life”).
Unlike most of his multi-channel network brethren, Robbins has extensive experience in traditional film and television. He began show business as an actor, most notably as a cast member of the Fox sitcom “Head of the Class” (1986–91). Before founding AwesomenessTV in 2012, he directed such films as “Varsity Blues” and “Norbit” and produced TV series including “Smallville” and “One Tree Hill.”
Last month, Awesomeness Films announced that it had begun production on on “Dance Camp,” the first product of its original content partnership with YouTube announced in April.
