Today, Defy Media announced the return of its popular digital talk show “Speakeasy” with a new host and a fresh guest list.
Comedian Russell Peters will replace Paul F. Tompkins as host of the digital talker, which which debut its new season on Defy Media’s men’s lifestyle destination MadeMan.com and the MadeMan YouTube channel on Nov. 16 and post new installments every other Monday thereafter.
The show invites celebrities and comedians to sit down for a drink and a chat. In the past, conversations have ranged from the surreal to the deep to the deeply surreal. Guests for this season include Tompkins, who will symbolically pass the torch to his successor Peters, as well as actor Michael Shannon (“Boardwalk Empire”) and Constance Wu (“Fresh Off the Boat”) and comedian Anthony Jeselnik.
Since debuting in 2012, the show has featured William H. Macy, Zach Galifianakis, Key & Peele, Sarah Silverman, Rainn Wilson, Ed Helms, Michael Sheen, Bill Hader, Lizzy Caplan, Bob Odenkirk, Nathan Fillion and Alison Brie.
