Marriott International’s branded video lab, the Marriott Content Studio, is pressing play on a for a sequel to its original hit “Two Bellmen” with a new cast and new luxury setting.
Like its predecessor, the sequel “Two Bellmen Two” is being produced in partnership with creative shop Substance Over Hype. Set to premiere in early January of 2016 on Marriott’s digital channels, the new installment will be set in the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai, where Marriott bellmen Gage and Christian (actors William Spencer and Caine Sinclaire, reprising their roles) are on a mission to rescue a presentation for a glamorous businesswoman played by Freida Pinto (“Slumdog Millionaire”). The sequel will also add Dubai based comedian Ali Al Sayed and Darin Toonder (“June”). Celebrity event planner and Marriott brand partner Colin Cowie will also appear in a cameo role.
Sandra Schulze, senior director of brand marketing & e-commerce for Marriott International, Middle East & Africa, praised the project in a statement, saying, “Thanks to our Content Studio and local talent like Ali Al Sayed, we are able to showcase one of the world’s most vibrant destinations through innovative content that will be well received both at home and abroad.”
The film is the latest in a string of successful projects by Marriott’s in-house content studio integrating the hotelier’s various international brands with compelling visual storytelling. The original “Two Bellmen” racked up 5.1 million views on YouTube. A second short film, “French Kiss,” racked up 6.1 million views and a third is currently being produced in partnership with Marriott’s Renaissance Hotels brand. Marriott has also notched branded content deals with a host of YouTube stars, including Shira Lazar and What’s Trending, Taryn Southern, Jack Harries and Grace Helbig. A partnership with Believe Entertainment has also yielded new animated content.
