Gaming-centric multi-channel network Machinima announced today that it has hired Don Reilley as VP, head of national brand partnerships, reporting to Machinima chief revenue officer Jamie Weissenborn.
A 15-year industry vet, Reilley most recently served as EVP of global ad sales and operations for Major League Gaming. He has also done stints at Microsoft, Amazon, Electronic Arts and Gamespy.
At Machinima, Reilley will oversee the company’s domestic sales operation and play a leading role in developing and executing content-based solutions that connect marketers with Machinima’s young gaming and fandom-obsessed audience.
Machinima also announced a Nov. 23 launch date for its new 10-episode animated series “The Bacca Chronicles,” made in partnership with digital influencer influencer JeromeASF (real name: Jerome Aceti, 3.8M YouTube subscribers). JeromeASF heads a voice talent lineup that includes fellow digital stars ChimneySwift11 (1.9M YouTube subscribers), TheZombiUnicorn (190k YouTube subscribers), Gizzy Gazza (1M YouTube subscribers) and Logdotzip (810K YouTube subscribers) and actor/comedian Eddie Pepitone (“Old School,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”).
Sponsored by Go90, “The Bacca Chronicles” focuses on a security force that ensures that everyone plays fairly on the server, while battling griefers (troublemakers), their own boss (affectionately known as “The Wass”), and an evil general and his army of one-eyed clones known as “Peepers.”
Episodes and show-related content will roll out across JeromeASF and Machinima’s social video channels, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, through Dec 31.
