National Geographic Partners is rolling out its first slate of original digital content with four new series set to bow this week on the publisher’s digital platforms.
This Thursday, National Geographic will premiere “Best Job Ever,” a look behind the scenes are the highs and lows of some of the world’s most unusual careers, and “Expedition Raw,” featuring previously unreleased footage from its explorers’ first hand encounters with unruly wildlife and extreme environments. The behind-the-scenes vibe will continue on Tuesdays with “Campfire Stories,” featuring NatGeo correspondents recounting some of their most unusual experiences in the field. Tuesday will see the debut of “Today I Learned,” a trivia series hosted by National Geographic personalities.
This is the first time National Geographic has extended its popular brand into the digital space with original programming. However, this isn’t the first time the publisher has experimented with digital video. National Geographic has previously released select repackaged linear content to digital platforms. The publisher is also is among the inaugural content partners for Snapchat’s Discover initiative producing original content to delivered vial the popular messaging app.
The new slate officially launches this week with new episodes premiering Tuesdays and Thursday on NationalGeographic.com and the National Geographic YouTube channel.
