Zazoom Media Group is digging into lifestyle media with a new content studio and a slate of new mobile-first shows.
Best known as the force behind video news program Buzz60, Zazoom is riding the lifestyle content wave with three new shows geared toward the ever more important mobile video consumer. Three fresh programs, “Pennygem,” “Mommy 3.0,” and “Grate & Full”, will take on a range of increasingly relevant and lucrative topics including parenting, food, health and wellness, style, beauty and home entertaining. All three new shows will take make mobile accessibility a priority in order to capture eyes on smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices that are fast becoming the primary screens for online video consumers.
Zazoom will leverage its partner network to distribute its new slate. That network, which includes big names like Hearst, MSN and AOL among others, will push out Zazoom’s lifestyle content across social, mobile, and online platforms to reach viewers.
In a statement, Zazoom Media Group president Steve Charlier said, “What value is a recipe video without proper and detailed steps? What’s a hack worth if it simply fails? Our new shows address that audience pain point and they do it a way that is consistent with the evolving way the consumer watches content, which is on their mobile devices. There is surging demand for great lifestyle content on mobile and social platforms. That’s why we created these brands.”
Once the domain of teens, tech enthusiasts and other early adopters, online video consumption has long since surpassed its niche origins to become a mainstream habit. With that transition has come a growing demand for content to satisfy underserved key demographics such as woman, parents and families. Rising demand has delivered growth for established digital lifestyle brands including Kin Community, StyleHaul and Refinery29. Zazoom isn’t alone in trying to surf the lifestyle wave. DreamWorks Animation-owned AwesomnessTV recently doubled down on the vertical with the launch of its Awestruck division, while new niche players like FamiLeague and Channel Mum have drawn both interest and investors.
