With yesterday’s announcement of the Golden Globe nominations and a stampede of year-end critics association awards looming around the corner, Hollywood is entering the heart of awards season.
That set the stage for digital movie destination Fandango’s announcement this morning that it is teaming with media brand InStyle for a multi-episode fashion-themed version of Fandango Movieclips’ “I Love Movies” video series, timed to coincide with this very special show business time of year.
Debuting Jan. 6, the special “red carpet edition” of “I Love Movies” will feature designer Isaac Mizrahi, celebrity stylist Micaela Erlanger, costume designer Paolo Nieddu (“Empire”), style icon Olivia Palermo and InStyle and StyleWatch editorial director Ariel Foxman. They will share the impact of their favorite movies — including “Rosemary’s Baby,” “Clueless,” “Auntie Mame” and “Love Story” and others — on their lives, work and red carpet trends.
“Film has always had a striking influence on fashion. The world’s foremost designers have long used cinema as a source of inspiration,” said Ariel Foxman, editorial director of InStyle and StyleWatch, in a statement. “InStyle’s authority sits at the intersection of fashion and Hollywood, making this series a perfect alignment.”
“I Love Movies” can be seen on Fandango’s dedicated website and mobile app, which serve as hubs for online movie ticket sales, trailers and other film-related content, as well as its dedicated video channels on Hulu, AOL and Watchable and InStyle.com/ilovemovies.
Fandango’s Movieclips produces a slate of original video series that covers different aspects of the moviegoing experience, including “Movie3Some,” “Weekend Ticket,” “FrontRunners,” “Mom’s Movie Minute” and “Reel Kids.” Fandango is a unit of NBCUniversal.
